I’m back again!

Howdy! It sure has been a while since my last post (11/14/08) when gasoline was around $1.97. The lowest it dropped here was about $1.40. Not bad, considering the fact that this year, (Or I should say last year! :) ) the price was at $3.99. (It never hit $4.00!)

We are in the process of renovating our kitchen. It has been a lot of work! I have been able to learn a lot more than I knew about woodworking. We have a refrigerator that is pretty big and clunky that we’ve had for a year. With our new kitchen plans, the fridge would not be able to fit in our kitchen! Okay, I’m not saying that we go and buy things “Just because, we want something new. ‘” No, we also take into account that we we would like to have big groups of people over to our house. That “big one” and the old freezer in the basement just don’t keep up with the demand. Because of this, we bought a new little black nice one. (After considering it very carefully.) We also took out our pantry after we built another one. (It’s amazing to see how much stuff we could fit in it in that dinky space!)

The new one. pretty amazing reflection! The background is our used-to-be pantry.

The new pantry.

The part that juts out is all coming out.

You really don’t realize how much food you have until it is in your entry room!

Here is our kinda but not really old fridge.

I guess while we are looking in the garage, I’ll tell you about my mower. If you didn’t know, I have a Lawn Service called C.J.’s Lawn Service that was handed down to me from my brothers Caleb and Joshua. I started doing the business alone this year. Having their two regular customers, I picked up two others. It always is encouraging to see this just growing! With their two non-regular customers that I water plants, take care of pets, and mow their lawn when they are out of town, plus four regular ones, you need some pretty durable home owner’s equipment. I have a trusty BG 85 STIHL blower and a little (Just my size!) FS 45 STIHL curved shaft trimmer. Curved shaft is not my preference, but this one has been a good one. Don’t forget the mower! I bought a $30.00 1987 TORO with blade clutch, 2 cycle Suzuki engine, and a great self-propel. I will admit, since it is so old, I have had to buy a lot of new parts for it. Right now it is “sick.” The recent “Under the weather garage” reason is because the back wheels keep flying back! Well, it’s hard to explain. Basically, the spring arm isn’t holding the wheel in place. I recently bought a new washer for it. The day I bought it, I lost it! I guess I just need to be more organized! At least it was just a half-dollar washer. I can buy another one, but that is a lesson to learn for me!

“Sorry Dad, I’ll get it cleaned up soon and you can put your cars in!”

You don’t see this everyday!

Bekah and Benny are both doing pretty well. Bekah had a good size scab on her back a few days ago. I’ve no clue where it came from. It is doing pretty well now, the only problem is that she is scratching at it. :( I think that’s what is going on because I keep seeing it all scratched up. I have been treating it with baby oil and antibiotic ointment which seems to be helping. The “hut,” (That is what I call the place where their cages are) stays pretty warm at night with heat lamps on. I suspected that the light might have burned her so I angled it differently.

Here’s the most recent picture of Ben I have snapped.

Bekah is doing pretty well as well except for that nasty scab.

Hopefully I can post more later.
